Winner - National Business Awards 2005

Walltransform Ltd was set up by Glenn Melvin to bring the new insulating plaster Wall-Reform to market. (AND TO ASSIST IN BRINGING AN END TO FUEL POVERTY)

Wall-Reform was developed initially to insulate the 7 million un-insulated solid wall properties. The majority of the properties are occupied by the ‘fuel poor’, those who pay more than 10% of their household income on fuel.

There are 4-6 million properties that suffer from condensation. Wall-Reform improves living conditions and associated health problems wherever it is applied, eliminating cold and damp in homes.

Walltransform have campaigned in bringing the plight of the fuel poor and those living in solid wall properties to the forefront to be included in Government policy.
External Insulation has subsequently been included in provisions made in EEC3 and utility funding is available for Social Landlords for large projects on a project by project basis where Wall-Reform is applied.

Walltransform have continued to research and develop ideas to improve our environment and living conditions.

Wall-Reform System II incorporating Kingspan boards and Wall-Reform render has subsequently been brought to the market and can achieve a u-value of 0.3 exceeding the stringent British regulations.

Warm-a-Wall is a recycled wall lining that is easily applied like wallpaper and has thermal properties. Quick cost effective remedy for saving energy and alleviating condensation/mould growth problems.28% improvement on a solid wall only 10mm thickness , warm-a-wall 11 can now meet building regulations internally and incorporates a complete vapour barrier .

Rubbercrete is a new sustainable acoustic plaster, flooring screed, which can help to solve the global tyre-waste issue. It contains up to 70% recycled rubber crumb. The wall plaster has full BBA certificate. Screed certificate still in progress

Walltransform Ltd remains committed to bringing new environmental and sustainable products to market, helping the environment and the most vulnerable in our society. Our policy is to work with LA’s, to create local employment for local people where possible and we are keen to train applicators in any of our products.

UP-DATED BUILDING REGULATIONS
Part L CONSERVATION OF FUEL AND POWER

An up date to Building Regulations means internal/external work carried out to any thermal element, (wall) thermal up grading is required for all renovation projects.

Please see page 23 from Building Regs Part L conservation of fuel guidance on thermal elements. We would like to bring to your attention to clause 57 regarding up-grading.

The consequence of this regulation is that whenever a buildings thermal element is below the thermal u-value threshold of 0.70 it should be up graded to 0.35 if a solid wall, but if this is not technically, functionally or economically feasible as it is written in the Document, then by law;

‘The element should be up-graded to the best standard that is technically and functionally feasible and delivers a simple payback period of 15 years or less.

Wall-Reform is the best thermal plaster/render product available and therefore can fulfil this regulation as many are realising, and it has been confirmed by many building control departments (LABC) that thermal products must be specified over none thermal ( to obtain the best standard technical/ functionally/economically feasible)

Wall-Reform has two full BBA certificates, one as a thermal plaster/render and another as a remedial plaster following a damp course. It also helps reduce condensation and was specifically developed to improve the living conditions for those living in solid wall properties. However, it can be used wherever any wall is being plastered or rendered and will increase the thermal element even when applied at 10mm thickness.

All our thermal products have full EST approval and CERT approval and there is a payback time where these products are used.

Official Energy Saving  Calculations:

The Building Research Establishment (BRE) Energy Division have carried out calculations showing the fuel and monetary savings that can be achieved when using Wall-Reform. (See ‘Benefits’ page)

Wall-Reform has a payback time and saves energy and money.
